The year that was.

The post has been in my drafts for quite some time, and I finally decided to re-post it.

2008 doesn’t fall under one single category. There was happiness, sadness, a sense of achievement, failure in my face, insecurity lurking at every corner, yet giving you that feeling of being protected. Contradictory statements they are. But that sums up the year. Made me realize a lot of things, which would have been unlearnt otherwise. Has made me; taller-no, sharper maybe. Stronger- Yes!

A year of changes though. Changes: which have changed my life forever. Am happy that it turned out this way. Some things in life cannot be taught, but have to be learnt. No text book or self-help book, would teach you lessons that life teaches you in the name of ‘experience’.

In the course of 365 days, I made new friends, lost contact with lots of so-called friends.  I have no qualms about it though. Made me know who the real people are, their real intentions and that the whole world will stand against you if they decide to.  Every coin has two sides.

I almost screwed up life. I became an unofficial graduate. Trusted people blindly and got hurt in the process. Learnt to accept things as they are.

The year 2008, made me realize the following:

People, places and everything else under nature’s purview change.

Losing weight is easy, gaining it all back is double easy.

Your greatest strengths and supporters in life are your family and your closest friends.

Men are stupid *period*

Reinforced my belief in people. The world is filled with all kinds of people: good, bad and evil. It’s up to you to decide where you want to be.

Believing in you is the best way out in any situation.

If something has to happen it will.

Life has no ctrl+alt+del button.

If you have to get out of shit, you have to get your hands dirty.

In prosperity, your friends know you. In adversity you know your friends.

Hard work is the only key to success. No matter what everybody else has to say, if you stick to your guns you can reach the stars.

You needn’t have a million friends, just a handful of good ones would do.

Everything in life happens for a reason. You will not know the real reason until the next thing comes around.

If you deserve something you will get it.

Cheers :)
